An operating system for your work

Alden is a voice-first AI assistant that runs on your desktop and operates your computer and browser on your behalf, opening apps, filling out forms, managing files, handling email, running workflows.

What Alden actually does

Alden operates your computer and browser directly, with every action gated behind your approval.

Fills forms and manages files

Completes forms and handles files on your computer, so the repetitive parts of your work get done without you doing them by hand.

Only files you've shared

Reads and edits what's in your trusted Workspace folder.
Everything else on your machine stays off-limits unless you grant access.

Handles email and runs workflows

Works through email and carries multi-step tasks from start to finish, checking in with you at the points that matter.

Checkpoints, not surprises

Anything that leaves the conversation, sending a message or touching a file, follows the rule you set for it: run every time, ask first, or never.

Browses and acts on websites

Navigates and interacts with websites on your behalf, and completes payments with your verbal confirmation.

CAPTCHAs come straight to you

Alden never tries to solve or bypass them.
It notifies you instantly with the challenge already in focus, and picks the task back up exactly where it stopped once you're through.

Legal agreements stay yours

Terms, consent screens, and anything you'd be bound by are handed back for you to read and accept yourself.

Talks with you in real time

Wake-word activated, speech-to-speech conversation.
You talk, and it talks back, the way a conversation actually works.

Runs on your own machine

The model is local, so what you say is processed on your device rather than sent somewhere to be transcribed.

Gains new skills over time

Built as a modular skill system, so what Alden can do keeps growing without redesigning the assistant underneath it.

Not tied to one AI vendor

A routing layer is built in so the underlying model can change without the assistant around it being rebuilt.

Takes over account admin

Handles the sign-ins, forms, and routine account upkeep that sit around whatever you already do, so the administrative tail of a task stops being yours.

Admin only, never decisions

Alden carries out the process you've asked for.
It doesn't make judgement calls on your behalf, financial or otherwise.

Every one of these actions is gated by the Governance Engine below, so nothing sensitive happens without your say.

Governance

Every action asks permission before it acts

Alden tells you what it is about to do, then checks it is allowed to.
It routes every action through a Governance Engine first, and only proceeds once it has the permission it needs.

Capability

The thing Alden wants to do, like sending an email or filling a form.

Governance Engine

Checks the request against your permission rules before anything runs.

Approved?

Your Always, Ask Every Time, or Never setting decides the outcome.

Execute, or ask first

It runs immediately, or pauses and waits for your explicit approval.

Authentication

Site sign-ins follow per-site rules you set: some sites are always trusted, others always ask first.

  • Always
  • Ask Every Time
  • Never

Browser Automation

Ordinary clicking and typing you asked for doesn't interrupt you.
Only genuinely risky sub-actions, like a file upload or download, checkout, or purchase, trigger an approval prompt.

  • Always
  • Ask Every Time
  • Never

System Actions

Sending an email or message, touching a file: anything that reaches outside the conversation follows the same rule, your call.

  • Always
  • Ask Every Time
  • Never

Alden also keeps a trusted Alden Workspace folder: files you deliberately hand to Alden become working content it can read and edit.
Everything else on your machine stays off-limits unless you grant access.

Voice

Just say the word

Say its name and Alden answers out loud. No typing, no waiting, no menus.
You talk over each other, interrupt, change your mind. It keeps up.
The voice is calm, precise, and quietly funny.

That voice is synthesised: generated by software, not a recording of a person.

Architecture

Built to extend, and keep your options open

Modular capabilities

Alden's abilities are built as modular skills, like calendar, files, browser-based tasks, and communication, with more added over time, without redesigning the assistant underneath them.

Multi-provider by design

Alden is architected so it isn't locked into a single AI vendor.
A routing layer is built to switch between models.
It's an architectural strength we're actively building toward.

Automation

It operates your browser too

Alden uses real browser automation to fill out forms, navigate sites, and carry out multi-step tasks on your behalf.
It handles the repetitive parts and pulls you in for anything sensitive.
Payments complete only on your spoken confirmation. Alden pauses and hands control back to you for CAPTCHAs and legal agreements rather than trying to solve or bypass them.

For example, Alden can sign in to the services you already use, work through a form or an application on your behalf, gather what you need from several pages at once, and keep a routine process moving without you sitting over it.
It carries out the process you asked for; it doesn't make judgement calls on your behalf.

Memory with boundaries

Alden is built around a Memory Operating System concept: separate working memory, project memory, and personal preference memory, with a governance layer over what's remembered and for how long.
It's still early.
The goal from day one has been to separate these kinds of memory and put you in control of what's kept.

On your desktop

Alden installs as a real, lightweight native app that lives in your menu bar.
It's available for macOS.

Try it before you subscribe

Use it free, with a daily allowance

Create an account and download Alden without paying.
The Free plan is the whole assistant rather than a cut-down version, capped at a daily allowance instead of a trial that expires.

  • No card
  • No expiry

Runs on your own machine

The model runs on your Mac, so voice and chat are answered on your device rather than sent anywhere.
Nothing about the free plan changes that, and the Governance Engine still gates every action before it runs.

Getting started

Before you install

Alden needs about 23 GB of disk.
Roughly 1 GB to install the app, and about 22 GB of models download the first time you launch it.
