1. Scope

This policy covers the Alden section of quantintelligence.co. Cookies are scoped to a domain rather than a path, so the storage described here is shared across the whole domain, but this page describes it as it applies to Alden. Other Quant Intelligence products each publish their own policies.

2. What we store, and why

The site currently stores a small amount of data in your browser, all of it related to one thing: remembering which language you chose. None of it identifies you, and none of it is used for advertising or profiling.

• googtrans (cookie), remembers the language you selected from the language switcher, so the site stays in that language as you move between pages. It holds a language code and nothing else. This cookie is also read by Google Translate, described in section 3.
• lang (local storage), the same language choice, kept so the site's own bilingual legal pages know which authored version to display. Local storage persists until you clear your browser data.
• langSwitchGoogle and langEnglishRetry (session storage), short-lived flags used only while a language switch is in progress. Session storage is cleared automatically when you close the tab.

3. Third parties

Two Google services are loaded on this site. When your browser loads them, Google receives your IP address, browser and device information, and the address of the page you are viewing, and may set its own cookies under its own domains. This happens because our pages request those services, but the data is collected by Google under Google's own privacy policy, not by us.

• Google Translate, powers the language switcher. When you select a language other than the ones we author by hand, the page content is sent to Google for machine translation.
• Google Fonts, serves the typefaces used across the site.

Our hosting provider also processes standard technical request data, such as IP address and browser type, in the course of serving pages to you.

4. What we don't do

We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party marketing trackers. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising purposes.

5. Accounts and sign-in

Signing in to a product account will require an additional cookie to keep you signed in for the duration of your session. That cookie will be strictly necessary for the service to function, and this policy will be updated to describe it before account sign-in becomes available.

6. Managing cookies

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings, and clear local and session storage the same way. Because the storage described in section 2 exists only to remember your language choice, blocking it will not prevent you from using the site: the language will simply reset to the default each time you visit.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy will change if what we store in your browser changes. It will not change silently.

If we add anything beyond what is described in section 2, or begin using storage for a new purpose, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date before that change takes effect. Where a new cookie requires your consent, we will ask for it rather than assume it.

We keep every published version. If you want to see the version that applied on a particular date, ask us.
