A conceptual walkthrough of installing an Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 5 and activating it with a license key. This describes the general MT5 EA installation process, refer to the instructions in your customer portal for anything specific to your subscription.
You can download the Quantmind Expert Advisor file from the customer portal, along with your license key.
In MetaTrader 5, open File → Open Data Folder, then place the EA file in the MQL5 → Experts folder. Restart MT5 or refresh the Navigator panel so the EA appears under "Expert Advisors."
Drag the EA from the Navigator panel onto the chart of the symbol and account you want it to manage. This opens the EA's settings dialog.
In the settings dialog, allow algorithmic trading for the EA, and make sure the "AutoTrading" toggle in the MT5 toolbar is enabled. Enter your Quantmind license key where prompted, then confirm.
Once running, MT5 typically shows a smiley-face icon in the chart's top-right corner to indicate an Expert Advisor is active. If the icon shows a frown or the EA appears inactive, double-check that AutoTrading is enabled and your license key was accepted before it starts managing a live account.
Once active on a live account, the Quantmind EA can open, modify, and close real trades.
Confirm your account, license key, and risk settings are correct before enabling it on a funded or live account.
