A conceptual walkthrough of installing the QuantMind desktop application and activating it with a license key. It runs on your own machine and needs no MetaTrader 5: it reaches your account through your prop firm's or broker's API instead, for accounts MetaTrader cannot reach. Refer to the instructions in your customer portal for anything specific to your subscription.
Sign up and choose a plan through the QuantMind customer portal to activate your subscription.
An active subscription issues a license key tied to your account. This key is what connects the app to run and connect to QuantMind's backend on your behalf.
Download the app, open the file and install it the usual way.
It's also in your customer portal, next to your license key.
Open the app and enter the license key from your customer portal. One key covers your connections; the portal shows how many of them are in use, so you can see whether a slot is free before you start another.
Paste the API key your funding company issues you. It is stored on this machine and sent only to your firm, never to us. Then choose the account you want the app to place trades on and start it.
Once it's running
The app shows the account it is placing trades on and its connection state.
The portal shows which connections are using your slots, and you can release one there rather than waiting for it to time out.
